Located high in the White Mountains of California in Inyo National Forest, this Great Basin Bristlecone Pine is estimated to be roughly 4,800 years old. To help put it into perspective, this tree started growing before the Egyptian pyramids were built.
The exact location of the tree is kept secret in order to avoid the inevitable vandalism that would occur if it was open to the public.
