We recently worked on a tree that had steel cabling someone had previously installed in order to help support it.
While climbing it I took this picture (not the best shot, I know). It’s a good example of one of the many problems with steel cabling. A while back the bolt ripped out of the trunk and was left dangling, creating a large wound and, of course, became useless for support.
